I stood in a one-bedroom suite at this hotel for four nights and had an overall okay experience. The reason I picked this hotel was because of the washer/dryer that was in the room. Although they both seemed a bit old, they did the job. The shower was quite small, and the toilet needed a deep clean. I dropped something in the bathroom and when I picked it up, I unintentionally looked towards the toilet and saw underneath the rim- which was disgusting!! I felt quite uncomfortable using the toilet afterwards knowing that there was a huge brown rim of what I assume to be fecal matter. This made me doubt how "clean" the hotel actually was... because of that, I'll be staying elsewhere next time I'm in Brisbane.

Christian L is the most warm-hearted service staff we've encountered, making our children feel the blessings of Valentine's Day. When our child accidentally fell, the staff also provided us with the most timely assistance. Moreover, the hotel is clean and comfortable. Given the chance, we will definitely revisit.

Have been loyal for work and personal trips to the Meriton brand for past decade but am now going to try other options. There is no loyalty recognition past the 3-5% discount at time of booking. A welcome back comment on check in would go along way but seems as they are now much busier than years past they couldn’t care less if you returned or not. Don’t bother explaining the lift system or gym access - you need to request the pool towels to be sent to your room as none by the pool something you wouldn’t know unless you have stayed previously. On site parking is a joke. On booking I have always selected and paid the $40 per night charge for parking on-site. This trip and previous have turned up before 5pm and have been told the car park is full and you will need to park at a parking building a block away. They then launch into the programmed responses of only 90 car parks for xyz amount of apartments - not all guests have cars they seem incapable of managing this aspect of the stay. As a woman who often is travelling on her own I do not want to be parking blocks away in multi story car parks and walking dark streets back to my hotel . The old Simpson (no longer made) washing machine that thrashes the clothes are in dire need of an upgrade. No flannel provided in bathroom and none available from reception - they gave a hand towel instead. Woman on front desk tells you she is the manager when pressed admits front desk manager and reluctantly provides the Hotel managers business card. The rather good friendly service, ease of stay with comfortable rooms and on-site car parking seems to be a thing of the past and means I will now try other providers who value brand loyalty. Recently stayed in an Accor and felt much more welcome. Have to also say Melbourne Meriton is managed a lot better and out of my dozen stays there seem more often than not to get the same room and a friendly welcome from reception. As always it is the manager of the day that sets the standard and Hershel Street needs to get back to basics.

We booked a 2 night stay at Meriton Suites Brisbane Herschel Street. We arrived at the property in the early evening where we had a good welcome and given a rundown of the facilities within the hotel complex. The one-bedroom suite was fairly spacious with an open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable bedroom, a good sized bathroom with a powerful shower and there was a utility room with washer and separate dryer. The apartment was comfortable and there was a view of Roma Street Railway Station from the living room and bedroom, there was absolutely no outside noise and minimal noise inside too. What was great was the location, it was a few minutes walk from Roma Street station and 10 minutes from CBD. We enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again in the future.
